Makeup for Level 1 is not required but it is encouraged. Stage lights wash out faces and make them look tired. Please refer to this Folklorico makeup tutorial

Our main goal for Level 1 students is to help them feel comfortable and confident. If their hair is too tight or uncomfortable, it can affect their experience. Every child is different, so we encourage you to style your child’s hair in a way that works best for them.

Have fun with this part of the experience! Practicing hair and makeup before the recital can be a sweet little bonding moment. Let your dancer have a say in picking their favorite makeup colors—it makes it even more special.
